Escape from Pompeii

In English, Year 3 have been reading a narrative called 'Escape from Pompeii' which relates to our Romans topic. We have enjoyed reading about the friendship between Tranio and Livia, two young children who lived in Pompeii. As the story progresses, Tranio notices that something isn't right as the earth tremors however, everyone else ignores the tremors as they think it is normal, until the mighty Mount Vesuvius erupts!

The children have spend the last few weeks investigating the language used within the text such as adjectives, adverbs, verbs and fronted adverbials and are now using all of these skills to create their own version of 'Escape to Pompeii'.

As a class, we have been collating our ideas to create a shared write and Green 1 were very impressed with the variety of language that they used to describe the eruption.
