Nursery newsletter

September 2018

A warm welcome to all the children returning to Nursery and to those who are new to us. All the team are excited to hear all about your summer holidays and can’t wait to get up to lots of fun here at Nursery.

This half term we are going to be doing two mini topics. The first will be ‘All About Me’ where the children will be learning and thinking about themselves; their likes/dislikes, labelling and learning the parts of the body and creating a few paper plate faces or two!

We’ll then be learning all about ‘Farms’ and ‘Harvest’. The children will have the chance to do some vegetable printing, learn about farm animals and get messy in the mud. We had had a bit of a change to our timetable this year:

Monday: Show & Tell- all day (children can bring in a toy/item from home to discuss with their friends. If your child does not attend on a Monday they can bring in their toy/item on a different day).

Wednesday: Forest school- morning (children’s wellies can be left in Nursery).

Friday: PE -morning (children will need to bring their shorts and t-shirt in a bag).

We apologise for any inconvenience this may have cause.

As Autumn days draw in, please ensure your child always brings a coat to Nursery as we do have lots of play outside and wears appropriate clothing and footwear. Please could children bring in some spare clothes which could be left in Nursery in case of any ‘accidents’ or water play mishaps. Please ensure that your child’s name is clearly labelled on all items of clothing.

If anyone has any outstanding forms or pictures left to be brought in to Nursery, please could they do so as quickly as possible so that everything can be ready and in order for the start of the year. Until we have seen your child’s birth certificate they will be unable to start Nursery.

Here at Nursery we want to make sure your child has as many different, exciting experiences as possible. We therefore ask for a voluntary contribution on £5 each term to go towards resources we may need (such as craft materials and cooking ingredients).

Please remember we are always here if you have any questions or concerns and are happy to help and assist whenever needed.

Thank you,

The Nursery Team
